What health testing do your breeding dogs have?

At Bullbrook Kennel, every Boerboel and Presa Canario we breed from is fully health tested before being considered for a litter. Our dogs undergo hip and elbow scoring, cardiac checks, and relevant DNA testing for breed-specific conditions. We also monitor eyes, joints, and overall structure to ensure they are sound, functional, and true to type.

By combining these tests with careful selection for temperament, we reduce the risk of inherited issues and give every puppy the best possible foundation for a long, healthy life. Copies of health certificates are always available for new puppy owners to review.

How do you socialize your puppies?

From the very beginning, our puppies are raised in the heart of our home, where they experience the sights, sounds, and routines of daily family life. We use structured methods such as Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI) in the first weeks, followed by age-appropriate exposure to new surfaces, toys, noises, and safe visitors.

As they grow, puppies are gently introduced to children, other dogs, and different environments to build confidence and resilience. By the time they leave for their new homes, they are well-prepared for the world around them and ready to continue learning with their families.
